About Pastor Julius Demps

Reverend Julius Demps was born in Lawtey, Florida, in 1946 and is the fourth of twelve children. He was educated through the Bradford and Nassau County Public School Systems, graduating from high school in 1964. He later continued his education at Central Texas College and earned an Associate Degree in General Education from Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Florida.

Following a brief period of service in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968, Reverend Demps married the love of his life, Jestine Patten. Together, they built a strong foundation rooted in faith, love, and service.

After settling into family life, Reverend Demps began a distinguished career in the United States Army, serving from 1974 until his retirement in 1994. In 1984, while stationed in Bitburg, Germany, he surrendered his life to Christ during a Bible study service attended by military believers from various Christian denominations. His passion for God's Word grew quickly, and he soon began assisting in ministry and discipleship.

Having answered God's call to preach, Reverend Demps was licensed as a minister in 1989 and ordained in 1991 by Reverend McMillan of Bible Way Missionary Church in Copperas Cove, Texas. During his ministry there, he faithfully served as Usher Board Counselor and Sunday School Superintendent. While later stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, he pastored three churches before completing his military service.

In 1998, Reverend Demps founded New Birth Christian Center in Melbourne, Florida. He later became an Associate Minister at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, where he remains wholeheartedly committed to the vision that every soul is valuable in the Kingdom of God.

A gifted teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Reverend Demps is known for delivering practical, life-changing messages that reveal timeless biblical truths. His personal journey through life's victories and challenges has given him a deep compassion for helping others, particularly men striving to become stronger leaders, husbands, fathers, and followers of Christ. His transparency and unwavering faith have enabled him to minister hope and healing to countless lives.

In addition to his military and ministry service, Reverend Demps operated a United States Postal Service delivery contract for twelve years. His life is a living testimony that "It's Not Over Until God Says It's Over."

Today, Reverend Demps continues to faithfully serve the Lord alongside his beloved wife, Jestine, as devoted members of the Saint James Missionary Baptist Church family.
